How to prepare files for printing

1. General recommendations for editing files

• Use specialized program not only to achieve the layout (eg InDesign, QuarkXpress), in association with specialized programs to prepare items that are to be fitted to the layout (eg. Photoshop for bitmap objects / images, Illustrator or Corel Draw for vector objects).
.................................................. .................................................. .................................................. ..........
• You can successfully use Corel Draw program with some caution. Avoid using this program to assemble files containing objects with transparent lenses, shadows, different effects which often cause trouble are prepress stage (postscript errors, defects in color selection, etc.).
Recommended for publishing articles containing the issuing of their effects in Photoshop and then importing them into the page as TIFF / CMYK (no layer s, ie flatten).
If you still insist on outstanding works design / layout in Corel and actually used as those described above suggest that an acceptable solution to convert the bitmap layout (minimum 350 dpi, CMYK, without ICC profile attached) except of course objects text is better to remain as a vector for the corresponding pattern

• Submit final PDF files Acrobat 4 compatible (PDF 1.3) or Acrobat 5 (PDF1.4), based on standard X1a/2001.
.................................................. .................................................. .................................................. .........
• Submit only in exceptional cases and only native format files after a discussion with us for some recommendations and technical advice.
.................................................. .................................................. .................................................. .........
• Native files must be accompanied by the required fonts, links etc.. We recommend using the features of "packaging", "Collect for Output" or "Prepare for Service Bureau" characteristic specialized DTP software, which will meet in a special folder all objects used in the layout.
.................................................. .................................................. .................................................. .........
• For the polychrome printing, color model CMYK is binding - all objects in the layout structure will be built only with this color pattern;
.................................................. .................................................. .................................................. .........
• Aside from the range extremes (0% and 100%) recommend that all fill sites should be included in the density range of 4-96%. Also note that the limit of coverage ink (C% + M% + Y% + K%) is max. 320%
.................................................. .................................................. .................................................. .........
• Avoid small fonts color composite. Generally work with color option to allow "overprint" (black or PANTONE colors). However small letters with fine sheriff are not practical at all. Avoid this type of letter fonts in 10 pt. Under no circumstances do not recommend less than 6 pt font.
.................................................. .................................................. .................................................. .........
• Avoid lines of 0.35 mm thinner composite colors or colors with densities below 100%
.................................................. .................................................. .................................................. .........
• If possible to consider the concept layout and graphic objects as small overprint option to be made with
.................................................. .................................................. .................................................. .........
• Ensure the use of specific colors (Pantone) that they are present in the same definition file, otherwise it will generate additional planes in the selection of color (eg Pantone 400 C Pantone 400CV and Pantone 400 CVC, especially common in Corel - depending on version - are different definitions of the same colors but are logically different colors and color decomposition will generate different planes);
.................................................. .................................................. .................................................. .........
• NATIVE files will be accompanied by a pattern of evidence - Proof Digital or a good quality color printing, which can be considered only in terms of information. Proof Digital sites can not be performed by third parties under contract for the property regarding the color printing is knowing that a digital proof is calibrated for a specific work flow.
.................................................. .................................................. .................................................. .........
• Any changes made to client files sent to involve development of new intermediate proofs, which will be considered only in terms of information even if they were executed by us.
.................................................. .................................................. .................................................. .........
• Proof digital contactuala is accepted as the only one which we made after the latest client files sent for printing.

PICTURES:

• Use for edit images with Photoshop mostly to have all tools necessary for professional editing;
.................................................. .................................................. .................................................. .........
• Image resolution - 350 dpi recommended (300 dpi is acceptable). We do not recommend using a higher resolution of 350 ppi, because they get higher quality, in turn unnecessarily increases file size;
.................................................. .................................................. .................................................. .........
• color correction and RGB-CMYK conversions to be made correctly - we recommend their implementation in Photoshop on a properly calibrated monitor.
.................................................. .................................................. .................................................. .........
• Pay attention to the color profile work. Recommend you contact us to enlighten aspects of color management.
.................................................. .................................................. .................................................. .........
• Recommended for use TIFF or EPS composite image. We do not recommend using compressed formats.
.................................................. .................................................. .................................................. .........

Formats

• Do not recommend the use of bitmap (TIFF, EPS) for works that contain text fonts smaller than 16 pt. In general, the use of bitmap fonts can lead to poor results in the printed paper.
.................................................. .................................................. .................................................. .........
• In certain circumstances, is accepted with the observation that PSD formats if they contain nerasterizat text, the file must be accompanied by fonts.
.................................................. .................................................. .................................................. .........
• Even during the development layout images have suffered a series of manipulations (scaling, resampling, etc. croping.) Inherent in the development stage, preparing images for publication in final format in Photoshop. We do not recommend scaling, resampling, and other manipulations directly in your layout application.

Cutting edge (trim box):

• Build the layout finished 1:1 format.
.................................................. .................................................. .................................................. .........
• It is imperative to keep in mind that if objects exist on the page to get the outline finished (after cutting), they can be extended beyond the cutting edge min. 3 mm (bleed margin). In some cases, depending on subsequent finishing operations this value must be increased. In such cases please contact us for technical advice.
.................................................. .................................................. .................................................. .........
• We will consider that no significant object layout (blocks of text, graphical objects etc..) Should not be placed at a distance less than 6 mm from the cutting edges (neutral zone). In exceptional cases this distance can be reduced to the max. 3 mm.
.................................................. .................................................. .................................................. .........
• neutral zone (where there should be no significant items in the layout) is dependent on how finishing works. Before starting a project please contact us for technical advice.

2. Additional recommendations for multiple-page publications

• Publications with covers and pages should be presented more logically organized files as follows:
- Cover cover 1-4 and 2-3 in separate file (the construction layout for covers will take account of thick spine for publication, depending on how binding - contact us for additional information).
- Inside pages in separate files - the page numbers be the same as in the publication (eg Pag01; Pag02; Pag03 etc.)..

WARNING! One newspaper even pages are pages left, and the odd pages are RIGHT.
.................................................. .................................................. .................................................. .........
• For publications in specialized applications (in design or QuarkXpress) using paging mode specific to these applications and submit PDF files with settings suitable for offset printing.
.................................................. .................................................. .................................................. .........
• Consider the construction layout of how this kind of finishing work - with termoclei stitching - stitching - stitching, binding as neutral zones and mirror settings page bleed margins are dependent and how to finish these publications.
We recommend that before starting construction of publications contact us, to illuminate aspects of influence on how to finish construction layout.
.................................................. .................................................. .................................................. .........
• final files for publication will be presented in PDF format natural sequence of pages in publication. Do not present files with pages and spreads the tax. If you are unsure on PDF export settings, please contact us.
.................................................. .................................................. .................................................. .........
• Files submitted for publication in any other way will lead to additional costs for their adequate preparation and long term commissioning work.

RECOMMENDED FORMATS

• The recommended format for submitting files for production is compatible PDF Acrobat 4 (PDF 1.3) or Acrobat 5 (PDF1.4), obtained by exporting the edited native files into an application DTP specialist with appropriate settings for offset printing. If you are unsure on PDF export settings, please contact us.
.................................................. .................................................. .................................................. .........
• Avoid using the PDF format is any problems with the lack of links, etc. fonts. Usually a correct PDF format can be set to work immediately without having to generate additional costs.
.................................................. .................................................. .................................................. .........
• Presentation files in native format (regardless of application) is generally acceptable but often leads to the generation of additional costs for proper preparation of files for printing.

Unacceptable formats

• Do not accept applications published in non-specialized files for DTP and designed for other environments (Microsoft Office, Microsoft Publisher, Dreamweaver, Fireworks, Flash, etc..). For works published in such applications is best to restore these works dedicated professional applications.
.................................................. .................................................. .................................................. .........
• Sending files in formats above will lead to additional costs for preparing files for offset printing. The level of these additional costs is proportional to the amount of work required for reprocessing files.
